Town Topic - Crossroads Neighborhood

2121 Broadway St.
Kansas City, MO 64108

Sundays is the only time when Kevin and I get to spend time together and one of our favorite places to go for breakfast Town Topic.

This location is open 24/7 and it's one of those good old fashion greasy spoons day or night.  This diner is very small, it seats 11.  Believe or not, this place is super packed late at night after an event in downtown or Liberty Memorial "Rock Fest".  But on Sundays you get to hear all the great stories from the staff.

On Sundays they do have a special  breakfast menu.  One of our favorites is call the "The Haystack" sandwich which is a Texas toast sandwich with;
  •  Egg
  • Bacon (sausage or ham)
  • Cheese
  • Hashbrown

Boozefish Wine Bar - Westport

This is the begining of our journey!

Well, with my husband out of town, my sister Dee and I went to one of mine (and Kev's) favorite spots,

This unique European Bistro & Wine Bar offers Mediterranean cuisine, an eclectic wine list, fully stocked bar and specialty beers on tap & bottle as well as daily specials & happy hour to keep you coming back! Their extensive wine menu was designed to educate people about wine and make wine tasting a fun experience. Become a wine connoisseur between 6 -8 pm at their weekly "Wednesday Wine Fest". On Fridays & Saturdays, enjoy Boozefish's 'Day Menu' between 11 am - 2:30 pm, a la carte menu.
Additional parking in the back and side streets~ A great dog friendly patio (very well lit for when you want to stop by after your evening stroll with your best friend)
We started our evening with a couple of martinis.  I had an Espresso Martini (Kevin's Favorite) which is a light and smooth and doesn't give have a strong coffee taste and my sister had a Dreamsicle Martini (my favorite) a fun mild Caribbean taste and not over powering.  We sipped our drinks while we enjoyed the dimly lit, cozy atmosphere.  The staff are super friendly and attentive.

Our waiter mention a great promotion they have:
You can purchase a bottle of wine from their wine list, and for an additional $20 it can be dipped and decorated in dark or milk chocolate by Annedore’s Fine Chocolates. An ideal gift for someone who enjoys the best of both worlds, chocolate and wine!

Our appetizers arrived shortly afterwards. The chicken nachos came in a filled deep dish. The dish contained the trinity  of dips, sour cream, guacamole and pico de gallo. The chips were drizzled with melted pepper jack cheese , black olives and generously portioned juicy grilled chicken. We also tried their wonderful hummus that came with three kinds of hummus: chipotle (a smokey kick), pesto (rich and savory), and original hummus (smooth and tangy).

This was my sister's first time at Boozefish and she loved it. It's a great place to meet your friends or family for a wonderful evening. They have it all, cozy atmosphere, amazing food and wonderfull staff.

Thank you Maija Diethelm-Floyd, owner of Boozefish for allowing us to begin our journey with you.
